First, seal the container with a cap to ensure there are no leaks or fumes when you return. Next, label it as “old” or “used” oil to remind you exactly what is being contained. Lastly, keep it away from flammable objects and out of reach to prevent any serious injuries from occurring.
The Recycling Option
When you’re ready to clear up some space, find a location near you that can recycle oil. There are many auto shops that will accept it in its current condition if you drop it off and pour it into their collection buckets. Make sure to call ahead before transporting anything.
